A North Texas real estate agent that’s been lauded as the top salesman in the country has a new accolade.

Ben Caballero each year sells thousands of new single-family homes in Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Austin and San Antonio out of his office in Addison.

In 2016 Caballero handled more than 3,500 home sales transactions for builders – houses valued at more than $1.4 billion.

The sales records was enough to get Caballero a citation in the Guinness Book of World Records where he is now listed as the number one real estate agent in the world.

"Being named a Guinness World Record holder is truly the highlight of my professional career," Caballero said in a statement. "It’s incredible that, until now, no real estate agent has ever been recognized for setting a world record for home sales."

While Caballero’s firm handles the equivalent of almost 10 home sales a day, don’t look for his name on yard signs or bus stop benches.

His HomesUSA firm only handles listings by homebuilders who are wanting to advertise their new houses to Realtors and buyers through the MLS system. They do work for some of the country’s top builders including Toll Brothers, CalAtlantic, Highland, Ashton Woods, First Texas, McGuyer, and History Maker Homes.

Caballero has been listed as the top U.S. residential sales agent since 2013.

Between 2010 to 2016, Caballero sold houses valued at $7.2 billion.

He typically has more than 1,000 homes listed for sale in the multiple listing service at all times.
